Strategies to get the best vacation property experience:
When to go & When to reserve a Isle of Palms rental home:
- Reserve your Isle of Palms vacation home in the Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites usually offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local Isle of Palms visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides have money saving offers on nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
How to choose and book a perfectvacation home:
- First and foremost, have your family choose a vacation week and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Whispering Palms- The Perfect Beach House! Elevator, Close to Beach has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Isle of Palms rental home search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before you reserve the rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or costs could be applied to your agreement.
Advice for your stay:
- We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Document any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are assessed.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take video of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a excellent stay? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
