Finding the best Isle of Palms vacation home experience:
When to visit Isle of Palms & When to reserve a rental home:
- Summertime is high season in Isle of Palms. Booking your Isle of Palms vacation home in Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Look for your local Isle of Palms visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides have discounts for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Make a plan and pick the bestvacation home:
- Select a group leader, choose your trip dates, and choose a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Private Pool, luxe interiors, 1-block to beach has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible online. If not, contact the property owner before you reserve the home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is best for your trip.
- Does your family require specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your group is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
Know before you go:
- Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the property manager right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a fantastic time? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
