Strategies to get the very best Isle of Palms rental experience:
Getting the best rental home value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To find the best value, shift your vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Isle of Palms vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- The sooner you can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides contain deals for nearby tours and attractions.
Planning, picking, and booking the rightrental:
- Select a designated group leader, select your trip dates, and choose a budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. 3704 Cameron by AvantStay
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before booking the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If there's a particular Isle of Palms attraction you are crazy about, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or charges may be applied to your contract.
Considerations for your stay:
- Get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- To make certain that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the property manager immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great resource to find the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental while you are away. Keep your property safe!
- On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a fantastic time? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
