Tips and Tricks to get the best rental home experience:
Finding your best deal:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. To find the largest rental home within budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Isle of Palms restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Isle of Palms vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Booking websites often offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Isle of Palms area visitor guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Isle of Palms area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning, picking, and booking a perfect Isle of Palms rental home:
- Start by choosing the best vacation week and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. private pool steps to the beach has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking pages. If not, email or call the property manager before booking the home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If there's an individual Isle of Palms destination you are enamored with, browse properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or may be applied to your invoice.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your visit, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. text the property manager immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect your property!
- Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a fantastic stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
