Tips for getting the perfect rental home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Summer months are high season in Isle of Palms. To find the best vacation home within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Isle of Palms restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a discount.
- Property management companies typically offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local Isle of Palms visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides have deals for local tours and attractions.
How to pick the perfect vacation home:
- Start by selecting potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. IOP w\/ Private POOL, RENOVATED, Walk to Local Stores! has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before you book the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
- Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.
- If there's a certain Isle of Palms beach you long to visit, look for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
Tips to have a terrific stay:
- Get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. message the rental manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take video of the property to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on good feedback to propel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
