Tricks and tips to get the optimal rental home experience:

Getting the most from your budget:

  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Booking your Isle of Palms vacation rental in Spring or Fall is a good way to save on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers usually offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Isle of Palms area travel guide magazines which include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Isle of Palms visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning and picking the best Isle of Palms rental home:

  • Start by having your group decide on date ranges and a spending budget.
  • Stunning Modern Home Near Beach w\/ Two Kitchens has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before reserving your home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out which bed configuration is right for your group.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .

More considerations for your visit:

  • Add the property manager's information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Upon arrival, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on good feedback to propel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
