How to book the best Isle of Palms rental home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are high season in the Isle of Palms area. Booking in Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
- Booking websites usually offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Isle of Palms area visitor guides which include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Isle of Palms area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to choose the perfect rental home:
- Choose vacation dates and max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Cast Away by AvantStay
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property management company before you reserve your home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or charges might be applied to your contract.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
Tips for a great stay:
- Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would back home.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. message the rental manager right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take video of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
