Tips to get the optimal Isle of Palms vacation rental experience:
Getting the most from your rental budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To book the best rental home within budget, we recommend reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some owners offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Isle of Palms area visitor guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Isle of Palms area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to pick the perfect vacation home in Isle of Palms:
- Choose your dates and budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. 4 34th Ave-Ocean View, Private Pool, Dog Friendly, Elevator, Rooftop deck! has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before booking your rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is best for your family.
- If there's a particular Isle of Palms beach you are crazy about, search for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or charges applied to your contract.
Tips for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- During arrival, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many difficulties.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a great resource to find the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
- Upon check-out, take a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a great time? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
