Tricks and tips to get the best rental experience:
Getting the best value:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- To get the best value, try shifting your family's Isle of Palms trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer great weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Some property management companies offer special rates for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
- Property managers frequently offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Isle of Palms area visitor guide magazines which include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Isle of Palms visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning, selecting, and booking a perfectrental:
- Select a group leader, choose your dates, and select a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Adorable Family Beach Home! Close to the Beach! Community Pool & Tennis! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before you reserve the rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what bed configuration is optimal for your trip.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or applied to your invoice.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
More considerations:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many difficulties.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
- Document any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if a dispute arises.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on good ratings to compel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
