Isle of Palms rental home booking tips:
How to get the best value:
- In the Isle of Palms area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked early. Booking your vacation home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Summer months are high season in the Isle of Palms area. Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites usually offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies supply Isle of Palms area visitors guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Isle of Palms visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Selecting the best rental home in the Isle of Palms area:
- First and foremost, have your family commit to vacation dates and a budget.
- Ocean View + Rooftop Deck has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property management company before you reserve your rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Get specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
Some things to know before you go:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
- At Check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and look for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a excellent time? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
