Tips and Tricks to get the best rental home experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Isle of Palms area. To find the best value, consider changing your family's Isle of Palms trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Isle of Palms area visitors guide magazines which will include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Isle of Palms visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

- Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
