Tricks and tips to get the best Isle of Palms vacation rental experience:
Sticking to your rental budget:
- Summer time is high season in Isle of Palms. Reserve your Isle of Palms rental home in Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Isle of Palms vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked very early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Many management companies supply Isle of Palms area visitors guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Isle of Palms visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Some things to know before you go:

- To make sure that no damages are attributed to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the rental manager immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your life at home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to drive new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
