Tips to get the perfect Isle of Palms vacation home experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal SC. To get the best rental home within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Often, property management companies supply Isle of Palms area travel guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Isle of Palms area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning and choosing the right Isle of Palms vacation home:
- To start, have your group decide on trip dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Wonderful, Oceanfront Villa in Wild Dunes Resort! Fantastic Views of Ocean & Community Pool! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
- Does your group require particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or costs might be applied to your contract.
Advice for a great stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
- To make sure that damages aren't linked to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the host right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your life at home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
- Upon check-out, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on good ratings to inspire future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
