How to find the best Isle of Palms vacation home experience:
When to visit Isle of Palms & When to reserve a rental home:
- In the Isle of Palms area, The sooner you can book, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. To book the largest rental home for your budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Isle of Palms vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Some property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group.
- Booking websites often offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Isle of Palms area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines have deals for local tours and attractions.
Filter your search:
- First and foremost, have your group commit to a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Corner Lot, Porch has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Isle of Palms rental home search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property owner before booking the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's an individual Isle of Palms beach you are enamored with, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
Considerations for your stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Put the host's information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
- During check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your peace. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything at check-out. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a great time? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
