Finding the best vacation rental experience:
When to go & When to book:
- Booking your Isle of Palms vacation rental in the Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Isle of Palms vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- In the Isle of Palms area, The earlier you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Often, property management companies supply Isle of Palms area visitor guides which include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Isle of Palms visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning and picking the rightrental:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your trip dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Modern Grand Pavillon Home: Steps to Beach, Pool Access has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before booking the home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- If your family is traveling with pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
More considerations:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
- To make sure damages are not linked to your family's stay, record any problem areas when you arrive. message the host immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
- Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
