Tips to get the best vacation property experience:
Getting the most from your budget:
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. To get the best value, try changing your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Isle of Palms vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Often, rental management companies supply Isle of Palms area visitors guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Isle of Palms visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Finding the perfect rental in the Isle of Palms area:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and select a budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Modern Grand Pavillon Home: Steps to Beach, Pool Access has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before reserving your home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
- If your family is bringing pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Request information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
- If there's an individual Isle of Palms beach you long to visit, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
Advice for your stay:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many concerns.
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- To make certain that damages are not attributed to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. Speak to the rental manager right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on good feedback to stimulate new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
