Strategies to get the perfect Isle of Palms rental experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Isle of Palms area. Reserve your rental in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- In the Isle of Palms area, The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Isle of Palms area visitors guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Isle of Palms visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Start by selecting your the best vacation week and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Charming Classic Beach Home w\/Private Pool, Chair Lift, Dog Friendly & 2 Master Suites! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Isle of Palms rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. If not, call the property manager before reserving the rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what configuration is right for your group.
- If there's a specific Isle of Palms attraction you long to visit, look for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
- If your family is bringing pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
- To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. Contact the rental manager immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your peace. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a fantastic stay? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
