Our top Rental property booking tips and tricks:
Cost saving strategies:
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To find the best value, try changing your family's Isle of Palms vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Isle of Palms vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
- Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Many rental management companies supply Isle of Palms area travel guide magazines which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Isle of Palms visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to select the best vacation home in Isle of Palms:
- Start by having your family select date ranges and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. 516 Seascape
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before booking the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a particular Isle of Palms beach you crave, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
Some things to know before you go:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
- To make certain that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the rental manager right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected everything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a wonderful time? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
