Getting the best vacation home experience:
When to go & When to book:
- Summer months are high season in Isle of Palms. To find the best value, try changing your family's Isle of Palms vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
- In the Isle of Palms area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Booking your rental property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Isle of Palms area visitor guides which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Isle of Palms area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Narrow your Search:
- Choose dates and max budget.
- ????? Newly Renovated Home in Beach Town! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Isle of Palms vacation rental search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is normally available online. If they are not listed, email the host before you reserve your home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what configuration is suitable for your group.
- If there's a certain Isle of Palms destination you love, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.
Advice for a great stay:
- Add the host's phone number to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To make certain damages are not linked to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. Contact the property manager right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of problems.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
- Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and look for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a terrific time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
