Tips for getting the best Isle of Palms vacation home experience:

Sticking to your spending plan:

  • To get the best value, shift your vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Isle of Palms vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property management companies usually offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Isle of Palms area visitor guides which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Isle of Palms area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Planning, picking, and booking your prefect Isle of Palms rental:

  • Begin by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration you need. \"Seaside Cottage\" Secluded cottage short walk to beach in Wild Dunes has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before reserving your home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If there's a certain Isle of Palms attraction you simply love, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

Know before you go:

  • Store the host's information in your smartphone.
  • To make certain damages aren't linked to your stay, note any problem areas upon your arrival. Make contact with the property manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many problems.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on great reviews to propel new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
