Tricks and tips for getting the best rental home experience:
When to visit Isle of Palms & When to reserve a Isle of Palms rental home:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Isle of Palms. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- Some property management companies offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Isle of Palms area visitors guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Isle of Palms visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning and picking a perfect Isle of Palms rental:
- Start by selecting vacation dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. PRIME Resort Location! Beachside, Ocean View, Pool Access! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available online. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before reserving the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Request details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
- If there's an individual Isle of Palms attraction you simply love, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
Know before you go:
- Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- During arrival, record any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on great reviews to compel new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
