Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Some property managers offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.

- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. 211 Seascape by AvantStay
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the host before reserving the rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what configuration is best for your vacation group.
- Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
- If there's an individual Isle of Palms attraction you long to visit, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
During your stay:
- Get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect your property!
- To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. Speak to the rental manager right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
