Isle of Palms vacation rental home tips:
Money saving strategies:
- Summer time is high season in the Isle of Palms area. To get the best value, try shifting your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Isle of Palms vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Isle of Palms area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby accommodations and attractions.
Filter your search:
- Begin by choosing your trip dates and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. The FAMILY Spot in Wild Dunes - Walking Distance to Beach - Pool Access has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking pages. If not, contact the property management company before you book the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or might be applied to your agreement.
More tips for your stay:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Record any issues with the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of difficulties.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to propel future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
