Tips and Tricks to get the best vacation rental experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Summertime is high season in Isle of Palms. To find the best value, try changing your trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Isle of Palms vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites usually offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local Isle of Palms visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides contain offers and deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Make a plan and pick the bestrental home:
- Choose a group leader, choose your dates, and choose a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Amazing Island Home, Private Pool, Close to the Beach! $250 Vayk Gear Credit! has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property manager before booking your rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your group is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
- Is your family looking for special amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
More considerations for your visit:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. Contact the host immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a fantastic time? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
