Isle of Palms vacation rental booking tips:
Finding the best rental value:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Isle of Palms area. To find the best value, try shifting your family's Isle of Palms trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer pleasant weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Isle of Palms vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property management companies often offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Isle of Palms visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines have discounts for local tours and attractions.
How to choose and book the rightrental:
- Select your vacation dates and budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Newly Renovated & Modern! Wonderful Ocean Views and 1 Block to the Beach! has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Isle of Palms vacation rental search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property management company before you book the home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what configuration is right for your family.
- If there's an individual Isle of Palms attraction you long to visit, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, hosts charge additional pet fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
- At Check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect your property!
- Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on great feedback to inspire more bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
