Strategies to get the optimal rental home experience:
Finding the best rental home value:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Isle of Palms area. Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Isle of Palms vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Isle of Palms visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines have coupons for local tours and attractions.
Make a plan and pick your prefect Isle of Palms rental:
- Select dates and max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Oceanfront 3BR, 3BTH, 2nd Floor, Beach Front IOP has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is often accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before booking your home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what configuration is best for your family.
- If there's a certain Isle of Palms beach you are enamored with, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
- Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.
More tips for your visit:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
- To make sure damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. Contact the host immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
- Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to propel more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
