Isle of Palms rental home tips and tricks:
Finding your perfect rental home:
- The sooner you can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Summer time is high season in the Isle of Palms area. Booking your Isle of Palms vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Isle of Palms vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your group qualifies for a discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Isle of Palms area visitor guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to choose the best vacation home:
- Start by having your family commit to the best dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Cute & Cozy Cottage Inside Wild Dunes Resort, Short Walk to the Beach! Perfect for a Relaxing Stay! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available online. If they are not listed, call the property owner before booking your home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what configuration is right for your family.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Does your group require special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
Some things to know before you go:
- Store the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few difficulties.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
- To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the rental manager immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent resource to find the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- On check-out day, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
