Tips and Tricks to get the perfect rental experience:

Sticking to a rental budget:

  • The earlier you can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your vacation rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • To get the best value, consider shifting your family's Isle of Palms vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Booking websites usually offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Often, management companies supply Isle of Palms area visitor guides that include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Isle of Palms visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to choose the best rental in the Isle of Palms area:

  • Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Port O Call C201 End Unit has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property manager before you reserve the property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If your group is bringing pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many difficulties.
  • Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
  • To make sure no damages are linked to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the host right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a great vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
