Strategies to get the best rental experience:
When to reserve a Isle of Palms rental home & When to go:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Isle of Palms area. To find the most suitable rental within budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities.
- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Isle of Palms visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines contain discounts for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Finding the best vacation rental in the Isle of Palms area:
- Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and select a max budget.
- Shared Pool + VIew has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property owner before you book the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.
Additional considerations:
- Add the owner's contact information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To make certain damages are not linked to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the property manager right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few issues.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible source for finding the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to inspire new reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
