Strategies to get the perfect Isle of Palms vacation property experience:
When to go & When to reserve a rental home:
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Isle of Palms. To find the most suitable rental home within budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property management companies often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, management companies supply Isle of Palms area visitors guide magazines that include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Isle of Palms area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Finding the perfect vacation home in Isle of Palms:
- Choose vacation week and budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration you need. OCEANFRONT - Idyllic and Modern Beach Villa! Pool Access! Great Location in Wild Dunes! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property manager before you book the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.
- Does your group require specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
Some things to know before you go:
- Be sure you get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few issues.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
- At Check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a fantastic time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
