How to get the best Isle of Palms rental home experience:
Finding your best deal:
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Isle of Palms. To find the best value, consider shifting your family's Isle of Palms trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites typically offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Often, property management companies supply Isle of Palms area visitor guides which will include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Isle of Palms area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Begin by selecting your trip dates and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. OCEANFRONT - Idyllic and Modern Beach Villa! Pool Access! Great Location in Wild Dunes! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before reserving your rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or charges could be applied to your invoice.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
Considerations for your stay:
- Add the host's contact info to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of problems.
- Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect your property!
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your stay, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. message the property manager immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible source for finding the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on great feedback to propel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
