Getting the best rental experience:
Get the most from your rental home budget:
- Summer months are high season in the Isle of Palms area. To book the largest rental home within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities.
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local Isle of Palms visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides have discounts for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Choosing and booking the perfectvacation home:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Oceanfront Villa 1111 Hot Tub & Community Pool! Great Views! has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking pages. If not, contact the property management company before reserving the rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your family is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly rental. Ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
Know before you go:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- Record any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if damages are assessed.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on good ratings to stimulate future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
