How to find the best Isle of Palms vacation rental experience:
Finding your perfect vacation home:
- The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Summer is high season in Isle of Palms. Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your group qualifies for a discount.
- Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Isle of Palms area magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Select dates and maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Oceanfront Villa 1111 Hot Tub & Community Pool! Great Views! has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Isle of Palms vacation rental search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before booking the property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Are you looking for particular amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Considerations for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, record any problem areas during check in. Contact the rental manager right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on great reviews to drive new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
