How to find the best Isle of Palms vacation property experience:
Finding your best deal:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Isle of Palms area. To find the best value, shift your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- Property management companies sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Many property management companies supply Isle of Palms area visitors guide magazines which include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Isle of Palms visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning, picking, and booking the perfectrental home:
- Begin by selecting trip dates and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Oceanfront Villa 1111 Hot Tub & Community Pool! Great Views! has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or might be applied to your agreement.
- Is your family looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More considerations for your visit:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
- Record any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific source for finding the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and look for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to propel more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
