How to book the best rental home experience:
Getting the best rental value:
- Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Reserve your vacation in the Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Often, management companies supply Isle of Palms area visitors guide magazines that include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Isle of Palms area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Filter your search:
- First, have your group select trip dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. 8D Mariners Walk - Ocean Views - Wild Dunes has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
- If there's a certain Isle of Palms destination you love, search for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or charges could be applied to your invoice.
Advice for your stay:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
- Document any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many problems.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to compel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
