How to book the best Isle of Palms rental home experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- In the Isle of Palms area, The sooner you can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your vacation property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Isle of Palms. Reserve your rental in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Isle of Palms vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Look for your local Isle of Palms visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines have offers and deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Filter your rental search:
- Choose vacation week and maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Cozy Beach Cottage Located in Wild Dunes! Large Screened Porch! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property management company before you book your home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what configuration is right for your family.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.
- Does your family require particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
Additional considerations:
- Get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Store the host's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
- Lock your rental while you're out. Protect your property!
- To make certain damages aren't linked to your stay, note any problem areas during check in. Speak to the host immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible source for finding the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and look for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a fantastic stay? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
