Strategies to get the best rental home experience:
Get the most from your rental home budget:
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is high season in Isle of Palms. Reserve your rental in Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Some hosts offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local Isle of Palms visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines have deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Make a plan and choose the bestvacation home:
- Begin by choosing your trip dates and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. 10 Sandcrab Court by AvantStay
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking websites. If not, email or call the property management company before you book the rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
- Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- Visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More tips for your visit:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of difficulties.
- Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your visit, note any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the rental manager immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a great source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a wonderful vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
