Tricks and tips to get the perfect rental experience:
Sticking to a budget:
- In the Isle of Palms area, The earlier you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Booking in Spring or Fall is a good way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Isle of Palms vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Some property management companies offer promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Isle of Palms visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines have coupons for local accommodations and attractions.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Start by selecting potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Spacious Beach Home w\/Private Pool, Elevator, & Prime Location! has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property manager before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine which bed configuration is right for your group.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- If there's an individual Isle of Palms attraction you simply love, look for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
Some things to know before you go:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your . Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas during check in. text the rental manager right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great resource to find the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a wonderful vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
