Finding the best Isle of Palms rental home experience:
When to go & When to reserve a rental home:
- The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Summer time is high season in Isle of Palms. Booking your Isle of Palms vacation home in Fall or Spring months is an excellent way to save on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Find a copy of your local Isle of Palms visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- To start, have your group decide on vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. 6 36th Avenue by AvantStay
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking pages. If not, contact the property owner before booking the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- If there's a particular Isle of Palms destination you long to visit, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
Additional considerations:
- Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many concerns.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
- During check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
