Our top Rental home booking tips and tricks:
Get the most from your rental budget:
- The earlier your group can book, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- To book the largest rental within your budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Isle of Palms attractions.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Often, rental management companies supply Isle of Palms area travel guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Isle of Palms visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Choose your vacation dates and spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. AMAZING Ocean Front View! 2BR Summerhouse Villa in Wild Dunes! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
- Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- If there's a specific Isle of Palms destination you simply love, browse properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
During your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of difficulties.
- Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
- Record any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- At departure, take a walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property a final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on good reviews to inspire future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
