Tips to get the optimal rental home experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Booking your vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is a good way to save on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties.
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Booking websites often offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Many property management companies supply Isle of Palms area travel guides which will include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Isle of Palms visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Filter your search:
- Select your dates and maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Multi-Room Panoramic Oceanfront Views, Community pool - 505 Summerhouse has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually available online. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before reserving the home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If there's a specific Isle of Palms attraction you crave, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
Advice for your stay:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your . We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Upon check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few problems.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Just before checking out, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
