Our top Isle of Palms rental booking tips and tricks:
How to get the best rental home value:
- In the Isle of Palms area, The earlier you can book, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To find the best value, try changing your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites often offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines contain money saving offers on local accommodations and attractions.
Filter your rental search:
- Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. ??????? 614 Palm Blvd. Brand New ???? Custom Built Home! Pool and Water Views! has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before reserving your rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or costs may be applied to your agreement.
- If there's a particular Isle of Palms attraction you long to visit, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Additional considerations:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. Call the rental manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected everything. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a fantastic stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
