Tricks and tips for getting the best Isle of Palms vacation rental experience:
Finding your best deal:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal SC. To get the most suitable rental home within your budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Isle of Palms attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Isle of Palms vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Booking your rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Isle of Palms visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines contain deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Finding the best vacation rental in the Isle of Palms area:
- To start, have your group agree to vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. \"Island Time in 5\"~Pool, inside Wild Dunes * Walk to Beach * has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available online. Otherwise, email the property management company before you book the property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
- Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
- Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.
More tips for your stay:
- Get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your . Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- At Check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
- Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a excellent time? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
