Tips to get the perfect Isle of Palms rental home experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Booking your Isle of Palms vacation home in Spring or Fall is a good way to save on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Isle of Palms vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
- Booking websites often offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Isle of Palms area magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines have money saving offers on local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Filter your search:
- Select a designated group leader, select your trip dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Breezy Beachside Getaway w\/ Rooftop Deck & 6 BRs has 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Isle of Palms rental home search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before you book the rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what is best for your vacation group.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property managers charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a specific Isle of Palms destination you love, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few difficulties.
- Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
- At Check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your life at home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything at check-out. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a wonderful time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
