Our top Rental home tips:
Get the most from your rental budget:
- The earlier you can book, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Isle of Palms. To get the most suitable rental home for your budget, we suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Isle of Palms restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Isle of Palms vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Some hosts offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites typically offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Isle of Palms area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines contain deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Choosing and booking the rightvacation home:
- Start by having your family select the best dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. 3 47th Avenue by AvantStay
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking pages. If not, contact the property management company before you book the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what configuration is suitable for your trip.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
Some things to know before you go:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few issues.
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would back home.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the property manager immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- At departure, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
