Strategies to get the perfect rental experience:

Getting the best value:

  • Booking your Isle of Palms vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties.
  • The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers often offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Many management companies supply Isle of Palms area visitors guide magazines which include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Isle of Palms visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Make a plan and pick your prefect Isle of Palms rental:

  • Start by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Oceanfront, townhome, pool, screened porch - 62 Beach Club has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Isle of Palms rentals search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property management company before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish which bed configuration is optimal for your family.
  • Visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
  • Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Add the host's information to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the rental manager right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
