Finding the best Isle of Palms rental home experience:
Finding your perfect rental:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Book your rental in Fall or Spring months to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Isle of Palms vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Isle of Palms area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines contain deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and choose a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Palm Blvd 2401 - Will-o-Layne has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Isle of Palms rental home search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before booking the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what is suitable for your vacation family.
- If there's a specific Isle of Palms beach you are enamored with, look for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
- If your group is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
More tips for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- Make a record of any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if damages are assessed.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many issues.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a terrific vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
