Tips to get the very best Isle of Palms vacation rental experience:
Finding the best value:
- To get the largest rental for your budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at Isle of Palms restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Isle of Palms vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- In the Isle of Palms area, The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your vacation property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Isle of Palms area visitor guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Isle of Palms area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Finding the best rental:
- Choose your vacation week and spending budget.
- Oceanfront Penthouse has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible online. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before booking your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
- Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or could be applied to your contract.
More considerations for your visit:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your visit, note any problem areas upon check in. E-mail the host immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a fantastic vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
