Booking the best Isle of Palms vacation home experience:

When to go & When to book:

  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is high season in the Isle of Palms area. Booking your Isle of Palms vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Isle of Palms vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Hosts sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers frequently offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.

More tips for your stay:

  • We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's stay, record any problem areas upon your arrival. Make contact with the host right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.

Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation home.
