Our top Isle of Palms rental home tips and tricks:

When to reserve a Isle of Palms rental & When to go:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Isle of Palms area. Booking your vacation home in Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Isle of Palms area travel guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Isle of Palms area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning, selecting, and booking the perfect Isle of Palms rental:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your vacation week, and select a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Centrally located condo, Renovated, Pool & Pier access, Close to beach - 204A Oceanside has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before booking the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If there's a certain Isle of Palms destination you love, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or charges may be applied to your agreement.

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • At Check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a excellent vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
