How to find the best Isle of Palms rental experience:
When to reserve a Isle of Palms rental home & When to go:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Isle of Palms area. Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is a great way to save on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Isle of Palms vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- In the Isle of Palms area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers often offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Isle of Palms area travel guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Isle of Palms area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Start by choosing your the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Modern Ocean Front Condo!! Community Pool & Pier! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property management company before you book your home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is suitable for your group.

- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your family is traveling with pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Get details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
Tips for your stay:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
- During check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peaceful home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a wonderful time? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
