Our top Rental home booking tips and tricks:

Getting the most from your budget:

  • In the Isle of Palms area, The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • To find the best value, change your family's Isle of Palms vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Isle of Palms vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Some property managers offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites often offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Isle of Palms area visitor guides which will include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Choose a group leader, select your vacation dates, and select a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. 131 Grand Pavilion by AvantStay
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before reserving the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's an individual Isle of Palms attraction you are crazy about, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

Know before you go:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few issues.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • To make certain that no damages are linked to your stay, record any problem areas when you arrive. text the property manager right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a great time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
