Tips and Tricks to get the perfect rental home experience:
When to book a Isle of Palms rental & When to go:
- Summer is high season in Isle of Palms. Reserve your Isle of Palms rental in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Isle of Palms vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines contain coupons for local accommodations and attractions.
Planning and picking yourvacation home:
- First and foremost, have your family commit to the best dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Beautifully Remodeled Modern, Yet Charming Beach Home w\/Ocean Views & Private Pool! Quiet Location! has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Isle of Palms vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the host before you reserve your home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your group is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
More considerations:
- Store the owner's information in your smartphone.
- During check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all belongings. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a terrific vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
