Getting the best Isle of Palms rental home experience:
How to get the best value:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Booking your Isle of Palms vacation home in Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Isle of Palms vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
- Property managers typically offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Isle of Palms visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides contain coupons for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Finding the perfect vacation rental:
- Select your vacation week and budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. WILD DUNES Home with PRIVATE POOL, Golf Views and Walk to Marina! has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Isle of Palms rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property manager before you book the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
More considerations for your visit:
- Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- To make certain that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas during check in. message the rental manager right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent resource to find the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a terrific vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
