Tips to get the best rental experience:
Find your perfect rental home:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Isle of Palms. To find the best rental within budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions.
- The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Isle of Palms area visitor guides which often include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Isle of Palms visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Add the host's information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- During arrival, make note of any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of concerns.
- Be respectful. Often, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to inspire future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
